In this page, you find details and work progress on recent and on-going alumni projects at CSS Nanka
Let's SeeS. E. N. Ezeilo Memorial library is designed to provide more than books and hub of learning. It will be such a place where all students and surrounding institutions would feel welcome and encouraged to acquire new skills, learn and grow. Apart from the ICT lab and other technology, e-books, plus fun and educational activities, the ultra-modern library is the only practical STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Math) center in the area that would partner with a US-based digital technology company to prepare young Atama Starlets for future careers in Engineering, Science, Medicine and Arts.
The tools, resources and modern technology access with the US-based Digital Technology Partners also holds a great promise to the sorrounding Universities and Institutions for skill acquisition in Robotics and modern technology like Cloud, Intelligent Automation and Machine Learning.
View AlbumTo sustain the program that would be coming to our library as a STEM and Technology Center, we need to recruit bright students to lead this program and deliver success and the best result in the State - WAEC, NECO, & JAMB. The target is to recruite, admit and award performance-based scholarship to these special studnets from Junior WAEC and prepare them well for leading future careers in the Universities - local and international - for a period of 3 years for each batch.
To this end, class of 8288 have begun plans for a second project - home life-style dormitory for the best and brightest Atama Starlets who shall be honored . We shall begin with a hotel resident-like 100 bedrooms special hostel for these Honor Students - Atama Stars future assets (to be known as: The Atama Starlets).
The upper level of the two-floor hostel house will be student's living. And the grand floor will be a mixture of one-bedroom-parlor, self-contained, and two-bedroom parlor apartments for selected teachers, principal and matrons.
Teachers and matrons would be on ground floor, and students on top floor...but all must live in one house with strong fence and compound. We shall start with Boys Only hostel for Phase 1.
View AlbumCSS Nanka, like most government schools, has suffered protracted neglect and vandalism over the years. This has left behind a porous and unfriendly terrain. Dilapidation of all sorts have taken place. Time, neglect and elements of weather have worn out a good number of structures and infrastructure, rendering them uninhabitable for both students and teachers.
The challenges and task of bringing this school back to a place of learning and position of success appears great, but the benefit thereof is enormous.
The effort of the Alumni community, the principal and the town as a whole, has hit the bell and reset the button. The school environment has been upgraded and sanitation has improved. The staff are better organized and attend to schedules promptly, and the number of students has increased immensely. The school recorded excellent performance in WAEC, NECO and BECE Examinations. Character, teaching and learning are rigorously pusued.
And the aim is to reposition CSS Nanka and make it the best place of Learning and Success in the Eastern Nigeria.
